Mrs. Mayme Welch, age 82, Covington Rt. 3, a life-resident of the Covington community, died at 11:05 p. m. Monday, March 26, at the Rudisill Nursing Home here, where she had been a patient for two months. She had been ill one year and seriously ill for three months. Mrs., Welch was born in Fountain County March 9, 1880, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Alkire Lyons. She was married in Veedersburg Dec. 1, 1901 to James Welch, who preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1936. She was a member of the Salem Methodist Church, northeast of Covington. She is survived by one cousin, Mrs. Charles (Virgie) Trott of Veedersburg Rt. 2. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Charles P. Lyons, and an infant sister. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home where friends may call today and tonight, March 28. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Dale Owens of Newtown, assisted by the Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Covington, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W

Mrs. Mayne Welch, 82, of Rural Route 3, Covington, passed away Monday night, March 26, 1962, in the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington.  She had been ill for over a year seriously ill for 3 months.
Mrs. Welch was born in Fountain County, March 9, 1880, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Alkire Lyons, and was married to James Welch of Veedersburg on December 1, 1901. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1936.  A brother, Charles P. Lyons, and an infant sister also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Welch was a member of Salem Methodist Church, west of Covington.  She is survived by one cousin, Mrs. Virgil Trott, Rural Route 2, Veedersburg.
Funeral services were held at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29.  Rev. Dale Owens officiated, with Rev. Glenn Ray assisting.  Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
