Mrs. Anna L. VanPelt Weitzel, 80, of Marshfield, a former Lafayette resident, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there since June 28 and in failing health four years. Born in Warren County, Mrs. Weitzel lived here before moving to Marshfield 10 years ago. She was first married in 1912 to Eddie VanPelt. Her second marriage was to Anthony Weitzel in 1940, he died in 1950. Mrs. Weitzel was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. Surviving are five sons, Jim VanPelt and John VanPelt of West Lebanon; Robert VanPelt of Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Frank VanPelt and Norman VanPelt of Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. Ida Walker of West Lebanon, Mrs. Garnet Brasker of Rt. 2, Covington, Mrs. Naomi Lee of Terre Haute and Mrs. Sally Price of Marshfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Minerva Morlan of Marshfield, Mrs. Frances Ricketts of Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Mrs. Dorothy Salts of Danville, Ill.
WEITZEL, Mrs. Anna L. Van Pelt -- Friends may call from 3 to 9 p. m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home, West Lebanon. Service in West Lebanon Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, Brother Charles E . Skaggs officiating. Interment West Lebanon Cemetery. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
