Della M. Weir, 80, Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Montgomery County, died Jan. 7 in Florida. Mrs. Weir was a retired bookkeeper and office manager for the former Steck's store, Crawfordsville. Her memberships included Lake Wales Alliance Church, Alamo Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron and District Deputy for 50 years, Mother Advisor of Rainbows for Girls, Flower Lovers Garden Club of Crawfordsville, Smartsburg Home Economics Club, and formerly of Smartsburg Christian Church and Lake Wales Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons. She was born July 1, 1918, at Veedersburg. She married Lawrence A. Weir. He died in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Becker, Lakes Wales, and a grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Smartsburg Christian Church, Crawfordsville, with the Rev. John R. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Cemetery. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. today in the church.
