Charles Edward Weed, 46, RR 2, Veedersburg, died unexpectedly at his home, Saturday, December 24.

  Born March 14, 1937 in Lawrence County, Arkansas, he was the son of Fred and Ruth Vinson Weed. On October 28, 1966, he married Phyllis Jean Blacketer, who survives. He had been employed for ten years at general Motors Central Foundry in Tilton, Illinois and was a former employee of Harrison Steel Castings of Attica. He was a member of UAW Local 579.

  Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Ruth Nixon of Veedersburg; three sons, Brent Weed of Hoopeston, Illinois, Eric Weed of Minot, North Dakota, and other survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Lane of Attica; a stepdaughter, Crystal Villalobos of Yuma; a stepson, Ramon Villalobos of Yuma; a sister, Lisa Jarvis of Attica; and two brothers, Darrell and Brian Jarvis, both of Attica.

  Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at Poplar Grove Cemetery at Marshall with Rev. Kenneth Burris officiating. Maus Funeral Home in Attica was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
