KINGMAN — Charles David Webb,
51, 2328 W. Hibbs Road, Kingman, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 in his
residence. He had been in declining health the past three years. He was born
Nov. 3, 1954 in Lafayette, the son of William and Mary Marie (Flemming) Webb.
He married Marilyn Patton Nov. 12, 1984 in Lafayette. She survives. He was a
graduate of Jefferson High School. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force he served
in Vietnam with the military police. He had been employed as a truck driver and
electrician prior to him becoming disabled. He was a member of the Westside
Baptist Church of Haines City, Fla., where he was an associate pastor, teacher,
and active in the HIS Puppet Ministry. He was ordained as a pastor November
1996 at Wesley Chapel near Waynetown. He was also active in the Montgomery
County Gospel Music Assn. He enjoyed collecting trains and his home music
studio and guitars. He had played the guitar since age 4 and was a member of
Blue Grass, Rock-n-Roll and Contemporary Gospel groups. His rock band had
opened for ZZ Top concerts and he had been a studio musician for John Mellencamp.
Survivors, besides the wife, include: four sons, Sam (Heather) Webb, Delphi,
Jason (Daisy) Hollon and Jon Hollon, both of Warsaw, and Jeff (Brandy) Hollon,
Fort Wayne; a sister, Peggy (Roger) Penzotti, Brunswick, Ga.; and five
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David
Charles Webb. His "going home service” will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in
Family & Friends Funeral Home, 9700 N. St. Rd. 55, Wingate, with the Revs.
Steve Brown and Layton Sparks officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home
from noon until service time. His family has chosen cremation to follow his
service. His family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may best be made to
