VIlonia, Ark -Nellie May Crowder Swindle Johnson Weaver, 57, Vilonia, Ark died at 7:37 a.m. May 1, 1993 at her sister's residence, Ruth (Simon) Coleman, Jr., Williamsport. She was born near Kingman Sept 30, 1935 the daughter of Ned Ray and Leona May Glaze Crowder. She was first married in 1954 at Parke County to Clarence Swindle, who died in 1958. She was then married in 1959 in Washington to Joseph O. Johnson who died in 1980. In 1985 she was married at Danville, Ill to James D. Weaver; he survives.
She graduated from Wallace HS in 1953 and became certified as a nurses aide in 1982. She lived in Washington state for 22 years in WIlliamsport from 1981 to 1985 and had been a resident of Vilonia since July 1985..
She was a nurses aide for the Conway Human Development Center for the Mentally Retarded in Conway, Ark for several years retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Renton, Wash.
Surviving are a son, Clarence "Buster" Swindle, Jr, Spokane, Wash; a daughter, Abbie Gale Creel, Vilonia, Ark; three sisters, Opal Powell and Betty Messenger, both of Danville, Ill; Ruth Coleman, Williamsport, two brothers, Edward Crowder, Rockville and Richard Lee Crowder, Naples, Fl.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Sedric Swindle and Dale Eugene Johnson and two brothers, Walter and Bob Crowder.
Funeral services will be held at Wolf Creek Church hear Kingman at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) with the Rev. Sammy Rodgers officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. FIsher Funeral Home, Williamsport, is in charge of arrangements. -- typed by kbz
