Loretta MORGAN WEAVER was born Oct 23, 1862 in Howard Twp Parke County, Indiana the daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Cunningham Morgan and departed this life in the early morning hours of April 28, 1941 at the age of 78 years 7 months 5 days. After a few years the family moved to Fountaon County where she grew to womanhood. On December 5, 1881 she was married to John William Weaver. Into this union were born five children all of whom are living. Soon after her marriage they moved to Illinois and lived for a number of years. The family moved to Parke County at the present home in 1910. Early in life she accepted her Savior and united with the Methodist Church. Later she united with the Christian Church at Byron. She was ever loyal to the Master's Service, never happier than when attending the church services. Whenever at all possible she was found in her place and ever ready to do her part of the church work. She was also a faithful member of the Ladies Aid. She was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by her children whom she was ever thoughtful of. She loved to have them and her grandchildren visit her as often as possible. Her father, mother, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss five children; Mrs. Grace Turpen of Douglas County, Illinois; Mrs. Mabel Sowers of Marshall; Lidge of Waveland; Homer of Marshall and Eschol with whom she lived. She had 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and a host of friends. "I cannot say, and I will not say that she is dead, she is just away, with a cheery smile and a wave of the hand - She has wondered into an unknown land. Think of her fairing on as dear in the love of There as the love of Here. Think of her still as the same I saw. She is not dead, she is away." Funeral services were held at the Byron Christian Church and burial was in the Wolf Creek Cemetery. Rev. John Servies was in charge of the services and Mrs. Forrest Coleman as pianist with Mrs. Mitchell and Miss Cozette Ward sang. The flowers were carried by Kate Weaver; Bonnie Weaver; Kate and Hulda Smith; Pauline and June Gooding and Mrs. Ingersoll. Pall bearers were Leslie Sowers; LeRoy Turpin; Robert, Charles, Herald and MIlford Weaver. -- kbz
