John Christopher Weaver, age 49, of 710 Washington St., Covington, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there two weeks and ill about six months.
Mr. Weaver was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Covington, the son of John Roger and Inez Phillips Weaver. He was married Sept 13, 1939 to Esther Shumaker, who survives. He was a truck driver for Campbell-Brown several years and was, employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co., in Attica for the past 23 years.
Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: four daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Woodrow of Covington Rt. 1, Mrs. Linda Lou Ratcliff of Indianapolis, Mrs. Julia Spezia of Covington and Coletta, at home; a stepson, Jackie Dean Ellison Of Covington; six granchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Purple and Mrs. Lula Julian, both of Attica, Mrs. Ruth Clark of Covington and Mrs. Grace Davis of Otterbein. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. The Rev. Joseph Dittmar officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
