Floyd E. (Snap) Weaver, 52, former Romney and West Point schoolteacher and basketball coach, was fatally stricken with a heart attack in the family home on Rt. 1, West Point early Tuesday. He was dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 5:30 a.m. He had been ill with a respiratory ailment for a year but death was unexpected. Born at West Point, he always lived in the same house in that community with the exception of three years he was in the Navy in World War II. He was a chief petty officer. Mr. Weaver was graduated from the old Central Normal College at Danville in 1936 and was a teacher and basketball coach in the former Romney and West Point High Schools from 1937 to 1942. He then served in the Navy and since then has been a farmer. He was married to Alice Griffen in Lafayette in 1943 and was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth, both at home, and a brother, Alvin of Rt. 1, West Point.
WEAVER, Floyd E. — Friends may call at Murphy Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Rosary service there at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass in St. Ann's Church at 10 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Leo McHale officiating; interment in St. Mary Cemetery.
