Clyde P. Weaver, one of Veedersburg’s popular and widely known citizens died suddenly Wednesday morning about 6:30 a.m. at his home from a heart attack. Mr. Weaver, 59, a petroleum products distributor for the Fountain County Farm Bureau Coop had been at his work on Tuesday but had stated to his family that he did not “feel so well.” Upon arising Wednesday morning he suffered the fatal attack. He was born June 12, 1893 at Palermo, Ill a son of George W. and Olive Jackson Weaver. In 1917 he was married to Inez Gallion and until 1935 they lived in the Fairmount-Sidell communities. The family moved to Covington in 1935 and to Veedersburg in 1939 where they have since resided. Before becoming associated with the Farm Bureau, Mr. Weaver and his family operated a popular restaurant in Veedersburg. Surviving is the wife a son, Jack now with the Army at Ft. Drumm, NY; five daughters: Mrs. Paul Brown and Mrs. Orville Powell of Veedersburg; Mrs. Carl Simmons of Muncie; Mrs. Harold Roach of Seymour and Mrs. Ralph Shepherd Jr of Mason City, Iowa. Also surviving is the father at Sidell, Ill; four brothers, Glenn of Lawton, Okla; Clayton of Sidell; Lester of Gary and Ralph of Georgetown and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Lough of Gary. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Sidell. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 daylight time at the Veedersburg Christian Church with Richard Owen officiating. The body will lie in state at the Church for one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the Veedersburg Christian Church for Clyde Weaver, popular citizen and agent for the Co-op petroleum department. Mr. Weaver died suddenly last Wednesday morning of a heart attack. The large funeral saw many friends of Mr. Weaver from Fountain County pay last respects as well as relatives and friends from Sidell, Newman and Fairmount, Ill.
