Bobby Darrel Weaver, 30 of Newport formerly of Kingman was the victim of a tragic hunting accident near Dana at 9:45 Monday morning. Bobby Darrell made his home in Kingman until he was married with his mother and grandmother, Mrs. Clover Wilson and Mrs. Bertha Dark. He joined the US Navy and after the war completed his education at Kingman HS. The tragedy struck swiftly for the father of five children and Bob had time to only say, “You couldn’t help it – pray for me,” before he died of a shotgun wound in the back. His stunned friend, Charles Norman also of Newport stood by helplessly as his companion muttered the words of forgiveness. Norman’s shotgun had discharged as he reloaded. – kbz
