Otto Hopkins Weatherman, 69, farmer and one time commissioner of Vermillion County, died Sunday at his home near Kingman. Death was attributed to leukemia. He had been ill eight months.
He was a Mason and member of the Kingman Methodist Church. Mr. Weatherman formerly resided on a farm near the present site of Wabash River Ordinance Works. He moved near Kingman after the government bought his farm.
He served two terms as county commission of Vermillion County and for a two year period was chairman of the County Democratic Organization.
Mr. Weatherman was born May 18, 1878 at Jonesville, Va., the son of James Wesley and Nancy Nichols weatherman. He was married Aug. 31, 1902 to Josie M. Harlan, who survives.
Surviving in addition to the widow are a son, Harlan, Veedersburg; a daughter, Bertha, at home; a sister, Mrs. W. B. Davidson, Jonesville, Va., and a brother, Ira, of California.
Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingman Methodist Church with burial in Roselawn Cemetery near Terre Haute. The Watson Funeral Home was in charge. ā thanks so much to āSā

Kingman, Ind Jan 19 - Otto Hopkins Weatherman 69 years old, former Vermillion County commissioner died at 2:15 o'clock Sunday morning at his home near here following an eight months' illness. He served two terms as commissioner and for two years was Democrat chairman of Vermillion County. He was a member of the Dana Masonic Lodge and Kingman Methodist Church. Surviving are the widow Josie; a son, Harlan W. Weatherman of Veedersburg; a daughter, Miss Bertha Weatherman at home; a sister, Mrs. WB Davidson of Jonesville, VA and a brother, Ira Weatherman of California.The body was taken to the Watson Funeral Home at Cayuga. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Kingman Methodist Church and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
