Mrs. Laura Etta Wear, 78, of 128 N. Perry, Attica, died Saturday (April 11, 1970) at Indiana State Hospital in Logansport, Ind. She had been in declining health the past few months. Born May 8, 1891 in Newman, Ill., she was the daughter of Joseph Carl and Susan Wallace Cheney Atto. She was married to Rote Wear in 1931. He preceded her in death, as well as four sisters. A member of the Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Eureka Springs, Ark., Mrs. Wear had owned and operated an apartment building in Danville before moving to Hillsboro where she operated the Hillsboro Hotel. She then moved to Attica where she assisted her sister, Mrs. Black Morris, in the management of the Attica Hotel.
