West Lebanon, Ind. (CNS) -- Earl Wayne (Hoot) Watkins, 71, a life resident of the West Lebanon community, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 1, 1963) in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Indianapolis. Born Aug. 31, 1892, in Warren County, he was the son of Quincy and Melisa Barker Watkins. He was married to Nellie Cronkhite, who preceded him in death. Mr. Watkins had been a distributor for an oil company in West Lebanon for many years. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Edna Little of Pine Village; and Robert Anderson and Virginia DeMott, who were reared in his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crowmer-Siddens Funeral Home in West Lebanon. The Rev. Fred Schreiber will officiate. Burial will be in the West Lebanon Cemetery. WEST LEBANON—Earl Wayne Watkins, 71, died in Cold Springs Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, at 5 p.m. Tuesday. He had been a patient there several months. Born in Warren County, Mr. Watkins moved to West Lebanon as a youth and spent most of his life here. He was married to Nellie Cronkhite in the 1920s. She died several years ago. He was a veteran of World war I and a member of the American Legion at Williamsport and a retired oil distributor. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Edna Little of Pine Village; a foster son, Robert Anderson in Georgia, and a foster daughter, Mrs. Virginia DeMotte in Florida.   --typed by Walt W
