Double funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in
Attica for Anna Ethelyn Huddle and Lancelot Washburn, sister and brother.
Anna Ehelyn Huddle passed away Saturday, July 2 at 4:30 at her home
south of Attica, after being ill the past six years with a heart ailment. She
was born Jan 6, 1885 in Veedersburg, the daughter of Thomas nd Carrie
Pickett Washburn. On January 11, 1905, she was united in
marriage to H.
Winfield Huddle. Mrs. Huddle was a member of the War
Mothers and took an active part in school affairs, particularly Band and PtA
and working with the school board. Survivors are the husband,
three children,
Robert of Stillwater, Okla; Mrs. Barbara Lucas of
Jacksonville, Ill and John of Bloomington. Another child, Marvin, died in an
airplane accident in Florida while in the armed forces. Burial
was in Riverside Cemetery.
Lancelot Washburn passed away Sunday afternoon at 1:10 at
the Veteran's Hospital, Indianapolis, after having been ill the past six
weeks. Death was caused from diabetes mellitus. He was born December
16, 1880 in Veedersburg the son of Thomas and Carrie Pickett
Washburn. He was united in marriage to Jennie Lucas June 29, 1902. Mr
Washburn was a member of the Moose Lodge, a Spanish American War veteran,
and spent his entire life in Attica. For a great many years he ws in
the transfer business in Attica. Survivors are the wife, two children,
Mrs. George Allen of West Lafayette, TE Washburn of Rockville, Indiana
and two
grandchildren. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. ---
