Alba H. (Bus) Warnick, active for many years in Fountain County Democratic politics and a one time representative to the Indiana legislature died last Thursday at the Aurora, Ill Mercyville Hospital where he had been a patient. Mr. Warnick had been ill since the first of the year.  He was born Dec 31, 1888 in Greene County, Ind the son of Thomas and Katherine Doris Warnick.  He married Miss Martha Durheim of Springfield, Ill June 25, 1917. He was a member of the Cayuga Masonic Lodge for 25 years. Mr. Warnick with his wife moved to Attica from Cayuga in 1926 where he was employed by the Neal Grave Company and continued to manage and operate the Neal Grave Company south of Attica.  He was in their employ for 22 and ½ years. In his younger life he had operated a clay plant at Malvern, Ohio and also worked at the Poston Brick Company of Springfield, Ill.  He became active in politics and served as State Representative from Fountain County for one term in 1936.  He was instrumental in securing the new Armory building for Attica.  He also served as state fire marshall for five and a half years and was with the Office of Price Administration for one and a half years.  He was president of the Attica Merchant Association in 1935 and took an active interest in all community activities. In recent years he has been operating a grocery store at his residence in Attica.  In 1936, Mr. Warnick was a member of Attica’s famous “Two-Door” Delegation and made a trip to Washington DC to try to get two doors in the new post office building to be erected in Attica, one on Main Street and one Mill Street.  He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Martha Durheim Warnick, one son, Robert who is with the armed forces in Korea; five brothers, Fred of Washington DC; Ward of Bloomfield; Ted of Bloomfield; Leslie of Cayuga and Dale of Tulsa, Okla and several nieces and nephews.
