Services were held at the Memorial Chapel Mortuary in Santa Fe, N.M. for Mrs. Elvis Ward 78, a former Covington resident. She died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 8, 1973 at the Los Alamos Medical Center after a two week illness. Burial was at National Cemetery in Santa Fe - typed by Walt W.

Elvis Lee “Dutch” Ward of White Rock, New Mexico, age 91, died Friday, February 11, at his home. He was born in Fountain County, September 1, 1891, the son of James W. and Adella A. Carnagey Ward. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Abell, in 1973. Ward was a farmer until retiring in 1969, when he moved to New Mexico. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Iola Williams, and her husband Eddie; two grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Williams of Denver, Colorado, and Cheryl Gross of Window Rock, Arizona; and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday afternoon at Sangre de Cristo Covenant Church in White Rock with Rev. Wayne Buchtel officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery at Santa Fe, New Mexico. – thanks to S
