WARD, E. Ferne Ricketts - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington—E. Ferne Ward, 92, Covington, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 1989 at Covington Manor Health Care Center.

  She was born Sept. 8, 1896 in Warren County, the daughter of Benjamin W. and Emma Florence Miller Ricketts. She was married Sept. 20, 1916 to Charles G. Siddons, who preceded her in death in June 1944. She was married to Will Elder, who preceded her in death. She was married June 15, 1966 to Noel C. Ward, who preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1977.

  She had been a resident of Warren and Fountain counties and the Covington area most of her life, except for a few years at ElCampo, Texas. She was a member of state Line Christian Church, Covington Senior Citizens, and a former member of Audubon Society and Illinois-Indiana Gem Society.

  Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. William (Janet) Williamson, Dayton, Ohio; two grandsons, William L. “Bud” Vibbert, Route 2, Williamsport, and Ray Vibbert, Spaotsville, Ky.; seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marcella Vibbert, five sisters and four brothers.

  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Funeral services will be there at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Gerald Burt officiating. Burial will be in State Line Masonic Cemetery. -s
