Services for Walter S. Warburton, 66, of 813 Harmon, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Methodist Church. Mr. Warburton died unexpectedly as he was walking at the rear of 805 Harmon about 7:15 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. C. Eugene Darling will officiate with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at Pape Memorial Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Coroner Ralph Sargent attributed death to a heart attack. Mr. Warburton, a Danville barber for 40 years, was found about 9:45 p.m. by LeRoy Beasley, 828 E. Harrison, who was driving a truck nearby. Mr. Warburton was pronounced dead on arrival at Lake View Memorial. Mr. Warburton had taken early-morning walks along the same route regularly. He was born Aug. 11, 1901, in Elizaville, Ind., a son of Clifford O. and Mellie Coverdale Warburton. He and Ruby Lee Atkinson were married May 15, 1923, in Kingman, Ind. She preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1961. After schooling in Elizaville and Lebanon, Ind., Mr. Warburton barbered for 10 years near Lafayette, Ind., before coming to Danville in 1925. He was owner of Warburton Barber Shop, 514 W. Fairchild, for 36 years. He had been a barber for 50 years. Mr. Warburton was a member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge 38, Danville Scottish Rite and Lincoln Methodist Church. His hobby was yard work. Surviving are two sons, Robert J. and Billy T., both of Danville; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Phyllis Ann) Freeland, Danville; two brothers, Ernest and Joseph Warburton, both of Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Inez) Stephenson, Lebanon, and Mrs. Dewey (Stella) Auchter, LaGrand, Ore.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. --– jlr
