Mrs. Ruby Lee Warburton, 57, of 813 Harmon Ave., Danville, Ill.,. died at the Lincoln Methodist Church Sunday, Sept. 3, 1961, seconds before she was to give an invocation for a program there.
Mrs. Warburton was known to have had a heart condition.
She was a member of Lincoln Methodist Church, was a past president of the WSCS, a trustee of the church, and a member of the board of directors of the Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Ill.
She was a former officer of the United Council of Church Women and was active in the Community Inter-church Religious Projects.
The daughter of Melton and Mae Thompson Atkinson, she was born May 8, 1904, near Yeddo, Ind. She attended school there, then worked as a waitress at the Soldiers Home in Lafayette, Indiana.
On May 15, 1922, she was married in Kingman, Ind., to Walter S. Burton. They moved to Danville in 1925, have resided there since, and at the Harmon Ave. address the past 30 years.
Survivors include the husband; two sons, Robert J. and Billy T., of Danville; a daughter, Mrs, Phyllis Freeland of Danville; six grandchildren; a brother, Elmer of Kingman, and four sisters, Mrs. Waneta Sackmire, West Lebanon; Sybil Myers, Waynetown, Mrs. Mary Lankton, Jackson, Mich., and Mrs. Mildred Fisher, Grosse Point, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services were at 2 pm. Wednesday at the Lincoln Methodist Church. The Rev. Edgar Houldridge officiated with burial
in Sunset Memorial Park.
