James E.
Walters of Newman, Illinois, age 66, died Sunday morning, January 17, at
his home. He was born at French Lick Springs, April 19, 1915, the son of James
and Elizabeth Thurston Walters. July 28, 1938, he married Maxine Rhodes, who
died in June 1962. A World War II veteran, he was a member of Newman American
Legion.
Survivors include
a daughter, Sharon Kay Newbolts of Orleans; five sons, Charles of Everett,
Washington, Kenneth of Tolono, Illinois, Larry of Orange City, Florida, David
of Newman and Robert of Champaign, Illinois; two brothers, Everett of
Veedersburg and Bill of Covington; a sister, Virginia McKee of Catlin,
Illinois; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services
were held Wednesday morning at Joines Funeral Home in Newman with Rev. Robert
Beesley officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery near Newman. ā thanks so
