ATTICA — Francis R. Wallace Jr., 65, 1208 N. Perry St., Attica, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2000, as a result of injuries sustained in a two-car accident on U. S. 41 south of Attica. He was born Sept. 30, 1934 in Buchanan, Mich., the son of Francis Rozelle and Fannie Crews Wallace. He married Ramona "Mona" Knowles Oct. 19, 1974 in Frankfort, who survives. He was raised in Kentucky and attended school in Glasgow. He later attended classes in drafting in Louisville. He had lived in Attica since 1967. He worked as a foreman for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) in the Fowler District for 23 years. He retired in 1999. He formerly worked for several years at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica. He had served in the Army National Guard in Kentucky. He had attended the Baptist Church in Kentucky. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #2596 of Attica. He enjoyed his grandchildren and watching sports. Survivors, besides the wife, include: three sons, Wayne (Rita) Wallace and Edward Wallace, both of Glasgow, Ky. and Bryan Wallace, Attica; two daughters, Vickie (Neil) Jefferies, Glasgow, Ky. and Samantha “Mandi” (Joe) Day, Attica; a sister, Stephanie Houchens, Glasgow, Ky., 12 grandchildren; a great-grandson; two step brothers, Charles Willard, Michigantown and Michael Harris, Frankfort; and two step sisters, Betty (John) Wheeler, Frankfort and Virginia (Charles) Gillmore, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Neil Jefferies officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. – jlr
