Earl Walker, 63, Olivet, Ill, a former resident of Hillsboro
vicinity died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, at Lake View
Hospital, in Danville, where he had been a medical patient since July
26. Mr. Walker was born October 28, 1883, in Waynetown, the son of
Curtis and Elizabeth Walker, and was married June 1, 1910, to Mittie
Cooper of Hillsboro who survives. He had resided in Olivet 26 years
and was employed by Hegeler Zinc Company for 20 years. He also
leaves his mother, who has been residing with them, five sons: Myron,
William and James of Olivet; Curtis of Flint, Mich; and Gerald of Great
Lakes Naval Training Station; two daughters, Mrs. Lena Mae Redding
and Lillian Walker, FLint Mich; three brothers, Sam Walker, Kansas City;
Carl Walker, Williamsport; and Dr. Lynn Walker, of LaFountaine;
and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Cowan of Sessner, Florida; and Mrs.
Chester Fowler, of Ewing, Ind. There are four grandchildren. Mr.
Walker was a member of the Olivet Nazarene church. The body was removed to the
Brewer Funeral Home of Ridgefarm, Ill where it remained until the
funeral service which was held from the church at 1:30 Saturday
afternoon. The
body was brought to Hillsboro for burial in Rose Hill
Cemetery and the casket was opened at the graveside service --- transcribed by
