HILLSBORO -- Funeral services were conducted here Sunday for Emery Charles Wales, 78, who died at 1:50 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Mr. Wales was distributor for Kimball Pianos and Organs in this area since 1946 when he moved here from Bloomington, Ind. He served with the Marine Corps during both World Wars. Active in the Boy Scout program for many years, he was a 50-year-member of the Masons. He was a member of Episcopal Church at Lanlark, Ill. When he moved here 25 years ago, he was well-known for the Great Dane dogs he raised. Born April 25, 1893, in Freeport, Ill., he was married Dec. 19, 1944, at Bloomington, Ill., to Maude Hoadley. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marian E. Drews of Danville, Ill.; a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Services were conducted in the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Walter C. Williams officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery here. --typed by Walt W

HILLSBORO, Ind. (CNS) — Emery C. Wales, 78, of Hillsboro, owner of the Wales Piano and Organ Sales here, died at 1:50 p.m. Friday (Dec. 31, 1971) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Mr. Wales had been active in Boy Scouts for many years and had been awarded the Silver Beaver, the highest award for a Scouter. He also had been active in the 1950s in raising and showing Great Dane dogs. He had been president of the Great Dane Club of Indiana. Born April 25, 1893 in Freeport, Ill., he was the son of George H. and Martha Snow Wales. He was a Marine Corps veteran of both World War I and II. Mr. Wales married Maude Hoadley Dec. 19, 1944 in Bloomington. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marion E. Drews of Danville; a grandchild, and a great grandchild. Mr. Wales was a member of the Episcopal Church of Lanark, Ill., and a 50-year Mason. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. (EST) Sunday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev.
