James F Walden, 74 expired at his sons at Wallace at 10:30 o’clock Monday evening, following a four weeks’ serious illness. He had been in poor health for the past year and a complication of diseases was the cause of his death. Mr. Walden was born near Broadhead, Kentucky Oct 28, 1862 a son of John and Rena Adams Waldon (sic). He was married three times, first to Delilah Cummins and following her death to Margaret Baird who also preceded him in death. eight years ago he married Mrs. Rose Bowman who survives. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church. He moved to Indiana 40 years ago and except for a few years spent in Ill, resided in Fountain and Montgomery counties. Surviving in addition to the widow are two sons: Arthur Waldon and William Waldon both of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah Toney and Mrs. Bessie Fairfield, both of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Jennie Deihl, Newtown; two brothers, John Waldon, Richmond and Alfred Walton (sic), Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burk and Mrs. Jane Weaver, Hamilton, Ohio; five half brothers, Elijah Waldon, New Ross; Reuben Waldon, Crawfordsville and Fred, Robert and Andrew Waldon, all of Crab Orchard, Kentucky and Mrs. Cynthia Ferris, Quall, Kentucky and 24 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Wesley Chapel near Waynetown at 10:30 o’clock Wednesday morning in charge of Rev. John Servies. Interment was in Wesley Cemetery.
