MELLOTT--- Wallace W. Wade, 75-year-old veteran former printer and weekly newspaper editor, died of a heart attack at 5:30 p.m. Saturday only a few minutes after arriving at the home of a son, Douglas Wade, southeast of here for a family dinner. He came here with a nephew, Charles Wade, and family of Crawfordsville, with whom he had made his home since last November. Mr. Wade was born in Mellott Aug. 6, 1885, a son of Aaron and Sarah E. Dotson Wade. He was married to Jennie Booe of Veedersburg, who preceded him in death in February 1959. Once employed in the office of a Mellott newspaper called The Hustler, Mr. Wade later edited the Mellott Enterprise about 45 years ago. He also edited newspapers at Wingate and Linden. His last employment was in the Fowler Printing Co. at Fowler, where he retired about five years ago due to ill health. For the last several years Mr. Wade was a wheel chair invalid. He came here with his wife after his retirement. Survivors include five sons, Russell of Ft. Wayne, Ralph of Indianapolis and Douglas of near Mellott; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Simpson of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Ruby Davis of Lafayette and Mrs. Pauline Bryles of Aliken, Ky., and three brothers, John Wade of Jasonville, Clyde Wade of Anderson and Stephen A. Wade of Mellott. He was more than a 50-year member of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church, the pastor of which will officiate at funeral rites announced for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Jack Eitelbuss is the minister. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery near Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home. - ww

Wallace W. Wade, 75, a retired printer-editor died unexpectedly about 6;15 Saturday Aug 27, 1960 at the country home of a son, Douglas Wade, northeast of here. Coroner Ralph Nelson investigated and attributed death to a heart attack.  Wade who had been making his home recently with another son, Charles of Crawfordsville had accompanied the family here to participate in a family cookout. He was born Aug 6, 1885 in Mellott the son of Aaron and Sarah E. Dotson Wade. He married Jennie Booe of Veedersburg who died here in February 1959.  Wade retired about 5 years ago due to ill health and lived here until his wife died. Since then he has been visiting with his children.  His first employment was as a printer with the old Mellott Hustler and about 45 years ago edited the Mellott Enterprise, both weekly papers. Later he worked on papers at Wingate, Linden and lastly at Fowler. He was a 50-year member of the Mellott Congregational Christian Church.  Survivors include six sons: Russell of Ft. Wayne; Ralph of Indianapolis; Gene and Wallace Jr of Lafayette; Douglas of Mellott and Charles of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Simpson of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Ruby Davis of Lafayette and Mrs. Pauline Bryles of Kentucky and three brothers, John of Jasonville; Clyde of Anderson and Stephen A of Mellott. – kbz
