Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday for Truman Wade at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Mr. Wade died Friday at his home in Mellott following a heart attack. Services were in charge of Rev. Loren Hetrick, Boswell with burial at Rose Hill cemetery. He had been ill several years since a brain hemorrhage but death was unexpected. He was employed by the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad for 27 years until his retirement. Born in the Hillsboro community Oct 16, 1882 he was the son of Henry and Martha J. Murray Wade. On Sept 13, 1902 he married the former Maude Hatt in ceremonies conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Berry in Mellott by the late Rev RH Gott. They made their home in Mellott for 20 years until he was employed by the railroad in Watseka and moved back following his retirement in 1949. Survivors include the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Fanyo and Mrs. Martha Ferrell both of Watseka; a sister, Mrs. Clara Rice of the Mellott area and a brother, Perry Wade of Frankfort. He was a member of the New Antioch Christian Church in Mellott and the Watseka Lodge, Modern Woodmen of America. – kbz
