MELLOTT, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Queen Venita Wade, 80, of Mellott, died at 12:20 p.m. Friday (March 29, 1974) at the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. She had been a patient for five days following a stroke at her home. Born May 2, 1893, near Portland Arch, she was the daughter of Harry and Rose Haskett Brooks. On Oct. 22, 1909, she was married to Stephen A. Wade of Mellott, who died June 9, 1969. They resided in Mellott their entire married life. Mrs. Wade was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ for 65 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marie King of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Gladys Merrill of Indianapolis; two sons, Charles H. Wade of Crawfordsville and Howard at home; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro after 3 p.m. Monday. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronald R. Peters officiating.
