SMITH ,Katie Fouts - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Waynetown - Mrs. Katie Fouts Smith, 78, died at 6 a.m. Thursday. She had been seriously ill a month in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville.  A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Bowsher she was born Aug 17, 1889 at Louisville.  She married Carl W. Fouts May 1, 1909.  He preceded her in death in 1951. On Nov 18, 1958 she married Carl Smith who died in 1962.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. She had lived at Milton, W VA before moving to Waynetown in 1948.  In 1958 she moved to Alamo. She was educated in the Hillsboro schools.  Survivors include two sons, Harry Fouts of Logansport and John F. Fouts of Ironton, Ohio; a duahger-in-law, Adelaide Fouts of Ironton; two stepsons, Dorman and Robert Smith of Crawfordsville; six step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. Hugh Dooley of Alamo officiating and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
