Will Smith, 77, of 302 Market St., Attica, died Wednesday in Community Hospital where he had been a patient eight days. He had been in ill health for several months. Mr. Smith was born in Lafayette and resided in Illinois before returning to Attica in 1957. He had resided in Alward Nursing Home the past year. He was married in 1920 to Minnie Whinton who preceded him in death. He had been employed at the former Rice garage and Harrison Steel plant and a steel foundry in Granite City, Ill. Only immediate survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Leo Chouinard of Pasadena, California. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday at the Roemer Funeral Chapel, Rev. John R. Walder officiating. Burial in West Lebanon cemetery. – jlr
