Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Veda A. Smith, 77, of 109 N. Gilbert, died at 11:58 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 15, 1966) in Lake View Memorial where she had been a patient two days. She had been in ill health several years. Mrs. Smith had resided in Danville since 1924 and at the Gilbert address 25 years. She had formerly been employed at Millikin Cleaners for 19 years. Born July 16, 1889, at Kokomo, Ind., she was a daughter of Ora E. and Ora A. Orahood Miller. She was married to John L. Smith, who preceded her in death in 1924. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Diana Smith of Danville, Mrs. Frances Maxfield of Fairmount, operator of the Fairmount Sportsman's Club, and Mrs. Veda Irene Stephens of Danville; a son, Keith Smith of Rossville; and a stepson Floyd R. Smith of Palmyra, Ind. She also was preceded in death by a stepson & a brother and a sister. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Barrick & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Burton Heleine officiating. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery at Perrysville, Ind. Friends will be received at the funeral home 7-9 tonight.   --typed by Walt W
