Mrs. Ruth A. Smith, 75, of 410 Grant, died at 4 a.m. today (Aug, 23, 1969) at Lake View Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient 18 days. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Danville the past 18 years. Born Oct. 19, 1893 in St. Joseph Township, she was the daughter of Ezra and Julia Agnes Bantz Macy and attended schools in St. Joseph Township. She was married to William H. Smith in Springfield on Feb. 19, 1919. He preceded her in death in 1923. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and several half brothers and sisters. A member of First Baptist Church in Danville and the Amos Corner Home Economics Club, Mrs. Smith's hobbies were knitting and crocheting. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Julia Ellen Hunt of Collison, two grandchildren; a brother, Cecil J. Macy of Brazil, Ind.; a half brother, Ira Macy of Arizona; two half sisters, Mrs. Lillian Greer of Indianapolis and Mrs. Sylvia Shonyo of Canyon City, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Maurice Gritton officiating. Burial will be in Stearns Cemetery north of Muncie. Friends will be received at the Pape Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. --typed by Walt W
