ATTICA — Funeral services for Ralph Smith, age 61, of 806 Taylor St., Attica, night superintendent at the Harrison Steel Castings Co., who died unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Home Hospital, Lafayette, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Louis Haskell officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Smith, who was born on Attica Rt. Nov. 23, 1903, had been hospitalized eight days. He was the son of James and Leota Labaw Smith and he was a life resident of the Attica area. He had been employed at the Harrison plant 43 years. He was a city chairman of the Republican party in Attica and had been precinct committeeman for 14 years. He was a member of the Salem Methodist Church, Wabash Lodge 408, F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the Shrine. He was married Oct. 6, 1929 to Effie Cambrin, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: one son, Jimmie, at home, and one brother, Robert of Erbine, Ky. --typed by Walt W
