Covington—Ralph Smith, 63, Route 3, Covington, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1989 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis.
  He was born Oct. 26, 1926 at Marquand, Mo., the son of Elmer and Myrtle London Smith. He was married May 27, 1944 in Newport, Ark., to Dorothy French, who survives.

  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy.

  Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Lindel L., Route 3, Covington, and Raymond, Key West, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Myron (Judith) Berry, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Juanita French, Igo, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Clubb of California, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. CST Tuesday, Jan. 30, in the Veterans Administration Chapel in Jefferson Barricks, Mo., with the chaplain officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barricks National Cemetery.
