Mrs. Mabel Smith, 76, resident of this community for 35 years, died at her home shortly after noon Saturday. She had suffered a stroke two days ago. Mrs. Smith was born March 19, 1880 near West Lebanon, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Kell McClean. On Nov 27, 1902 she was married to Daniel Lee Smith who died in 1923. She was a member of the Veedersburg EUB Church. Survivors include a son, Donald of Elkhart, Ind; two daughters Mrs. Mazie Smith of Benton Harbor, Mich and Mrs. Oscar Liddle of Brazil, Ind; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at the RUB Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. J Samuel Pritchard in charge. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
