Lula B. Watkins Smith of West Lebanon, age 86, died Saturday morning, April 10, in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. She was born in Fountain County, June 24, 1895, the daughter of John and Mary Baldwin Robbins. In 1912, she married Ray Watkins, who died in 1951. In 1954, she married Roy S. Smith, who died in 1969.
Mrs. Smith was a cook at Hanging Rock Christian Camp for 25 years and had also been a cook at the West Lebanon High School. A member of West Lebanon Christian Church, she had also worked as a linotype operator for the Attica Ledger-Tribune and West Lebanon Gazette.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Kincade of Indianapolis; a son, R. Wayne Watkins of Danville; three stepchildren, Lorin Lee Smith of Danville, Lorraine Murdock of Watseka, Illinois, and Dorothy Annis of Palmdale, California; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at West Lebanon Christian Church with Rev. Leonard Largent officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery.
