Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. (cst) Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Mrs. Loretta (Laura) Smith, age 86, who died at 7:25 p. m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Dana Convalescent Home. She had been ill since May. The Rev. Earl Owen officiated. Burial was in Hicks Cemetery at Perrysville. Born Aug. 20, 1876, near Perrysville, she was the daughter of Thomas and Julia Stoffer Keerns. She was married in 1903 to Abraham L. Smith, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1942. Mrs. Smith had been a life resident of the Perrysville community and had taught school before her marriage. She was a member of the Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years. Survivors include two step-sons, Clarence C. Smith of Hamilton, Ohio, and Raymond G. Smith of Perrysville; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Williams of Danville and Mrs. Myrtle Kiser of Covington; four step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. --typed by Walt W
