VEEDERSBURG – Keith
C. Smith, 54, 314 N. Newlin St., owner and operator of Smith Plumbing and
Heating for 25 years, died at 8 a.m. today in St. Vincent Hospital at
Indianapolis. He was a member of the Veedersburg First United Methodist Church,
Veedersburg Lions Club and the K of P Lodge. He was born at Newport on Sept. 5,
1921, a son of James and Ruth Stokes Smith. He was married to Hannah Lou Helms
on Oct. 3, 1943. Surviving are the wife; a son, Ken of Veedersburg; two
daughters, Mrs. David (Jill) Crider and Suzi Smith, both of Veedersburg; a
sister, Mrs. Dan (Norma Jean) Layman of Veedersburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the
Rev. Glen Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery, Friends
may call at the Parham Funeral Home here 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. – jlr
