Hiram Smith, living about 3 miles SW of Covington in Warren County was run over at the east Main street crossing of the Wabash railroad at Danville, Ills, about six o’clock last evening. Both legs were cut off, and one horse killed. Mr. Smith is a brother of Daniel K. Smith, a former resident of this city. – Later – it is reported this morning that Mr. Smith is dead. - kbz
