Mrs. Hattie Smith, Former Resident Of Newtown, Dies NEWTOWN Mrs. Hattie Smith, 82-year-old native of this community, died Tuesday at the home of a son, Leonard, in Indianapolis. She had been in failing health two years and had made her home with her son several months. Born Oct. 9, 1881, she was a daughter of William and Susan Reeves Haas. She married Mike Smith in 1904. He died in 1945. Survivors include the son at whose home she died and another son, Hansel of West Mansfield, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Watts of Garrett; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body was taken to Crumley Funeral Home at Hillsboro. Funeral arrangements are pending.
