SMITH, Guy - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

VEEDERSBURG— Guy Smith, 87, lifelong resident of Veedersburg, died at noon Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. Mr. Smith was a former Fountain County surveyor. Born on Sept. 11, 1881, he was the son of Thomas and Ada Scherer Smith. He was married on Dec. 25, 1904 to Lucretia Miller who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Stanley of Clifton, Ariz., and Walter of Indianapolis; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Harper of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lois Howard of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Alberta Meeker and Mrs. Mona Craig, both of Veedersburg; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home, and burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
