Mrs. Freda Smith, 42, wife of Luther Smith, native of
Mellott, died early Monday at her home in New Castle, Ind of a heart
attack. She was the daughter of James and Sina Strader Cooper, Mellott and was
married in
1923 to Luther Smith, near Hillsboro.
Surviving are her parents, two sons, Russell and John, and
two daughters, Marie and Evelyn; five brothers, Freeman Cooper,
and Glen Cooper, Lebanon; Fred Cooper, Veedersburg; Everett Cooper, Crawfordsville and Walter Cooper, Connersville and four
sisters, Mrs. Ada Baity, Tangier; Mrs. Beulah Hoover, Logansport; and Mrs.
Daisy Drew and Miss Elsie Cooper, both of Connersville. Funeral
arrangements are incomplete. -- kbz
