ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) — Combined services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Crowmer & Siddens Funeral Home in Williamsport for James Raoul Smith, 64, and his wife, Frances Cline Smith, 64, of Tab. He was killed instantly and she died the next morning of injuries sustained in a headon auto crash on Dresser Bridge at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jerry Burt will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The bodies are at the funeral home. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Smith was born Dec. 19, 1904, the son of Harvey and Alice Stewart Smith. He was a life resident of Warren County and had been a real estate salesman. They were married April 22, 1938, at the home of her parents. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Inez Larch of Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 22, 1904, the daughter of James and Ella Fetterling Cline. She also was a life resident of Warren County and was a member of the Tab Christian Church. She was a graduate of Madame Blaker's College and taught for 40 years in Fountain and Warren Counties. She was a member of the Indiana Teacher's Association, Business and Professional Woman's Club and was a director for the Society for Crippled Children. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Catherine Marion of Attica Route 4. They were preceded in death by a daughter, who was killed in an auto accident several years ago.   --typed by Walt W


By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS -- Killer highway U.S. 41 has claimed two more victims. James R. Smith, 63, Rt. 1, Ambia, died Wednesday night in a two-car crash just north of Attica in Warren County. His 64-year-old wife Frances died today of injuries in a Lafayette hospital. The driver of the other car, Herbert L. Rice, 38, Attica, was hospitalized in fair condition at Lafayette. State police said the Rice car struck a bridge abutment and veered into the path of the oncoming Smith vehicle.
