Veedersburg, Ind. - Mrs. Flossie Mae Smith, 66, of 118 Jackson, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 6, 1973) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient a week and had been ill for a year. Born July 4, 1907, at Armstrong, Ill., she was the daughter of Grover C. and Lundia Mae Dukes Carpenter. She was married to Harry Smith, who preceded her in death. She formerly resided in Danville and in Veedersburg 40 years. She had been employed at Sunny Inn Restaurant. Survivors include three sons, Donald E. Roley and Robert J. Roley, both of Danville, and William L. Roley of Santa Ana, Calif.; two brothers, Charles Carpenter and Leonard Carpenter, both of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Reckenhammer of Decatur and Mrs. David (Evelyn) Jones, Mrs. Vivian (Dora) Paulson and Mrs. Joe (Betty) Robbins, all of Danville; 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lemuel Carpenter. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fishero-Dickerson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
