Services were held Tuesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro for Mrs. Eva May Smith, 89, of Newtown. She died Friday, March 18, 1977 at Home Hospital in Lafayette. She had been ill a month. The Rev. Donald Watson officiated. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Born Feb. 25, 1888, in Milan, Ohio, she was the daughter of Levi A. and Emma Keeler Hultz. She was married to D. F. Smith, who died July 22, 1958. They resided for several years on S.R. 28 east of Attica. She attended Norwalk, Ohio schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Woman and Study Club, both of Newtown. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. George (Jean) Lawson of Veedersburg Route 3; a foster daughter, Mrs. F. N. (Mary) Boom of Davenport, Iowa; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. – jlr
