SMITH, Eva Grady

Mrs.  Eva Smith, 90, one of Veedersburg’s oldest resident and a native of Fountain County died early Monday morning at her home in Veedersburg and being in failing health for some time.  She was the widow of the late Charles Walker Smith who died in December 1952.  Mrs. Smith was born in Fountain County near Attica on April 9, 1863, the daughter of Elizabeth Zink and Matthrew Grady.  She was married in March 1891 to Charles Walker Smith of Veedersburg.  In her early life she had been a school teacher. Surviving is one son, Gale Smith of Fowler; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Mrs. Smith was an active member of the Veedersburg Christian Church until her health failed. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with burial in the Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
