Danville, Ill.—Ethel
F. Smith, 70, Danville, died at 9:42 p.m. Friday, April 7, 1989 at Carle
Arbours in Savoy, Ill.
She was born Dec.
17, 1918 in Danville, the daughter of Daniel and Leatha Knight Ray. She
was married Nov. 19, 1938 in Covington to Wayne C. Smith, who survives.
She was a member
of grape creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Morris-Flamingo Hair
Products, where she worked for over 23 years.
Surviving,
besides her husband are a son, Curtis W., Hammond; two grandchildren, Steven
and Staci Smith, Glenwood, Ill.; two brothers, Rayford Ray, Oakwood, Ill., and
Jack Ray, Westville, Ill.; four sisters, Bonnie Smart, Evelyn Connelly and
Wilma Morman, all of Danville, and Norma Correll, Tempe, Ariz. She was preceded
in death by a brother, Lionel Ray.
Funeral services
were at 10 a.m. Monday at Barrick and Son Guardian Chapel with the Rev. John
Taylor officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. - thanks to s
