Veedersburg, Ind. -- Mrs. Estelle A. Smith, 73, died at noon Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She had been admitted there at 11 p.m. Friday following a heart attack. Born in Fountain County, near Veedersburg, on Sept. 18, 1893, she was one of 10 children born to Jeremiah and Uree McLean Hall. On August 10, 1911, she married Glenn Campbell, who died in 1943. She was married Jan. 2, 1945 to Silas Smith, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of First Christian Church in Veedersburg and of the area chapter of Theta Nu Chi. She is survived by one son, Herbert Campbell of Indianapolis, a sister, Mrs. Helen DeHaven of Muncie, Ind., three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Parham Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. James Dyson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Smith was born in Fountain County, near Veedersburg, on Sept. 18, 1893, one of 10 children born to Jeremiah and Uree McLean Hall. On Aug. 10, 1911, she married Glenn Campbell, who died in 1943. She was married Jan. 2, 1945 to Silas Smith, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of First Christian Church in Veedersburg and of the area chapter of Theta Nu Chi.
She is survived by: one son, Herbert Campbell of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Helen DeHaven of Muncie; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. The Rev. James Dyson officiated and burial was in Campbell's Chapel Cemetery, east of Veedersburg.
