VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) – E. Clair Smith, 62, of 500 W. Second, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday (Sept. 16, 1973). Death was due to natural causes. Born in Grand Junction, Colo. Dec. 3, 1973, he was the son of Frank and Mary Mitchell Smith. He was married Aug. 12, 1935, to Lala L. Brimbury, who survives. He was employed as a maintenance worker at Purdue University and was a member of the United Brethren Church in Perrysville. Survivors include two sons, Robert Clair of Waveland and Raymond Joe, serving in the Navy in Athens, Greece; two brothers, David C. of South Bend, Joe M. of Lawrence; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A son, a daughter, a brother and a granddaughter preceded him in death. Arrangements are pending at Parham Funeral Home. – jlr

VEEDERSBURG - E. Clair Smith, 62, of 500 W. 2nd St., Veedersburg, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday. He was employed with the maintenance department at Purdue University and was a member of the United Brethren Church of Perrysville. He was born Dec. 3, 1910 at Grand Junction, Colo., a son of Frank and Mary Mitchell Smith on Aug. 12, 1935, he was married to Lala L. Brimbury who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Robert Clair of Waveland and Raymond Jo who is stationed at Athens, Greece with the U. S. Navy; two brothers, David of South Bend and Joe of Lawrence; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and granddaughter. VEEDERSBURG - Services for E. Clair Smith, 62, of Veedersburg, who died unexpectedly in his home Sunday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parham Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Dale Cadman and the Rev. Glen Youngblood. Burial will be in Hicks Cemetery at Perrysville. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening. - jlr
