Veedersburg—Edna F. Smith, 96, 306 N. Newlin St., Veedersburg, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 1989, at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill.
She was born Aug. 22, 1892, in Putnam County, the daughter of Thomas and Cora Hooker McAlister. She was first married Oct. 9, 1908, in Rockville, to William B. Reed, who preceded her in death in 1934. Her second marriage was in June 1935, in Lafayette to Scott Smith, who preceded her in death in 1945.
She was a member of Gold Star American Legion Auxiliary of Veedersburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Timmons, Veedersburg; two grandsons, Larry Strean, Veedersburg, and Roger Reed, Monticello; four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, a sister and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Dan Immel officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. – thanks to S
